For those who love to take their ride off-road, we got some good news, Jeep is redesigning the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Jeep is not very famous for its pickups, but recently they threw in the gauntlet. The famed manufacturer tried their hand at making pickups with their Jeep Gladiator line. It happened several years ago and frankly, it was a big hit. When seeing the Gladiator, at first sight, it looked like a ghost of someone you used to know. Well, that might be because it is a Jeep Wrangler design with a cargo bed added to the back. The idea sounded nice and the truck itself was great.
By putting those two things together Jeep made a pickup worthy of the off-road. With an already proven pedigree of the Wrangler, there was no obstacle great enough to stop the Gladiator. Now the manufacturer decided there is much more they can improve on their pickup. Hopefully, some stylistic tweaks and some improvements under the hood are coming. Let us dig deep and see what changes we have in store with the upcoming 2023 Jeep Gladiator.
Jeep Gladiator Interior Changes
When we take a look inside the cabin we can see the changes right away on the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Although it has a large cabin, it has plenty of legroom and headroom, there is much to improve. The styling wasn’t given much attention previously. Simply because designers thought of it as an off-roading beast and didn’t put much effort into making it comfortable and luxurious. But now their hand has been forced by others. Ford, GM, RAM, and other carmakers are focusing on the interior of the car. They are trying to make it feel the upper class and exquisite.
Jeep has to follow suit or lose the affection of many buyers. It is not just about hauling and towing cargo anymore for pickups, they are a style statement. A lot of people drive them in their everyday life. So it is prerogative to make it as comfortable and luxurious as possible. For this reason, Jeep introduced new seats. We get the choice of leather, suede, and fabric. Along with many colors on the palette to pick from. Further, we get heated and ventilated seats so you can enjoy the ride for prolonged periods of time even in the harshest conditions. This beast will be taken off-road so it would be a good idea to put a panoramic roof on it.
Well, Jeep went a step further and added the detachable roof from the wrangler. This way you can feel the wind in your hair even on the hottest of days. It can seat five people without any problem. We will have a central infotainment system as is the standard nowadays. The size should be at least 10 inches so everyone can join the fun. Connectivity covers everything as suspected. We get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth and a wifi hotspot right inside the cabin.
Exterior Facelift
On the outside, you see a Wrangler with a tail. Some changes have been introduced to the 2023 Jeep Wrangler, exterior-wise. But nothing too special. After all, why change the winning formula. Jeep hasn’t forgotten all about the square and blocky look of their vehicles. After all, this is what somewhat sets them apart from others. However, we can spot some more curves and angles on the truck. Mostly for ergonomics and aerodynamics. Improving these two features on a truck can improve gas mileage and save some money on fuel.
Something we can all agree on is a very good idea. The headlights are also circular. Even though we see manufacturers left and right changing the headlights to some modern design. Let’s say a banana, or C-shaped, or linear headlights. The Jeep stayed true to its old design and went with a classic circular headlight. Of course, they put the latest LED technology in them to ensure the best visibility possible. It would be a good idea to put one LED bar on top of the pickup to improve that even further, but one can only hope. Ride height is increased and it is a good idea in our opinion. Making this move will ensure the 2023 Jeep Gladiator doesn’t get stuck on some obstacles along the way.
The cargo bed is not the biggest in class, but it can haul enough cargo for everyone’s taste. On the front, we have a huge grill that is made from lightweight material same as the wheel rims. This saves weight and further improves the power to weight ratio. This in turn increases performance and makes the 2023 Jeep Gladiator a force to be reckoned with. Talking about wheels, they are huge, due to the tires being beefy since it is an off-roading centered truck.
Engine Specs
Under the hood, things are quite stable for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Well, there is no need since the powertrain is more than capable of tackling all obstacles. We have a 3.6-liter V6 that runs on gasoline. This produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. With this type of power, you can rest sure that you will be out of a ditch in no time with the 2023 Jeep Gladiator.
We also have a 3.0-liter diesel V6. This beast produces 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Mileage is quite decent on the Gladiator, we get 22/ 28 miles per gallon depending on the environment you are driving in. Both of the powertrains arrive with 6-speed manual transmission. There are rumors about the 8-speed automatic but nothing official as of yet.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Price and Release Date
We can expect the starting price to be around $50000 for the basic trim. Of course, that will increase depending on the amenities you want in your 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Also, we can expect this car to hit the road sometime in late 2022.
