The new 2024 Nissan Titan is actually happening. There were numerous reports circulating that Nissan is about to call it a day for the Titan nametag. These reports are now being reversed and they are claiming a new generation Titan is on the way. Not much information is known about the upcoming redesign. But we can expect some big moves inside and outside, as well as under the hood. In order to keep people interested, Nissan has to check a lot of boxes and beat out the competition. The full-size category of pickups is reserved for the big three. We are, of course, talking about Ford, GMC, and Ram.
These manufacturers have invested heavily in this category and it paid off big time for them. They are undisputed and are able to dictate what is trending and what is no good for trucks in this segment. A better and improved interior is a must. Technology was a bit lackluster on previous versions, so this is something Nissan should definitely correct. The exterior was appealing and aggressive, but still, there is space for much improvement. Under the hood is where the biggest bang should happen. We have zero information on potential powertrains, even electrification is on the table. Whichever might be the case, let us dig deeper and see what the new Titan could look like.
Nissan Titan Interior
With the new redesign, we can surely expect some improvements on the inside of the 2024 Nissan Titan. This doesn’t mean building everything from ground zero. But minor tweaks and stylistic changes are needed. This will allow the Titan to keep up the pace with other trucks. As we already mentioned, full-size pickups are very popular and there is a big market out there. Putting better seats in the pickup would do wonders. Better cushioning and improved lumbar support would go a long way toward winning the hearts and affection of buyers. Heated and ventilated seats are very common nowadays. Because of this, we can expect this feature to be available as standard.
The instrument panel could use a bit of a touch-up. Putting some leather or alternative materials is the way to go. Some chrome or perhaps even wood could make it look like a luxurious cabin. An infotainment system will be present. As per usual, it will be at least 12 inches in size. That way the back row of passengers can join in on the fun. Titan can seat five people without any problems. There is plenty of legroom and headroom. The dashboard is supposed to be digital and this is a nice step toward the future.
Aggressive Exterior Design
On the outside, the 2024 Nissan Titan looks menacing as always. It is after all a full-size truck with a prominent front fascia. Titan looks bold and ready to take on any obstacle. It comes with 20-inch lightweight alloys. They shave off some weight from the already heavy truck. On the front, we have a big bumper that protrudes outwards. Also, the headlight design is different this time around. It looks like two letters C that embraces each other. Very classy design that uses the latest LED technology for best visibility.
There are LED bars on top of the truck to ensure safety on scarcely lit roads. There are climbing steps on both sides. The cargo bed is 5.5 feet long as standard. Overall shape and design give an ergonomic and aerodynamic look to it. This also improves fuel economy as well as handling. There is a multifunctional tailgate as well. You can use it as a seat and a step. Overall the truck looks aggressive and we like this look, very much.
Is New Engine On the Way?
Previously, Titan has been powered by a mighty V8. It was a 5.6 liter unit with over 400 horsepower. More than enough for your everyday needs and then some. It was thirsty, it was able to do work and it was popular. Nissan is planning on scaling things down a bit with a possible V6 for their 2024 Nissan Titan. It is going to be a turbocharged 3.8 liter V6 that the new Frontier is using. This should push the Titan past the 400 horsepower mark again. The engine comes with 9-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid system is also in the plan. Again a V6 3.0-liter engine with a single electric motor. The output should be over 450 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. But in order to keep up with Ford and others, Nissan should look into putting a battery pack inside their Titan.
Ultium technology is the most popular one. And a truck of this size shouldn’t get less than 200 kWh. This would push it past 300 miles range on a single charge. This would cost more from the get-go, but in the long run, it is a much better option than a gas-guzzling engine. Saves the environment and the driver’s wallet, a win-win situation in our opinion. More and more manufacturers are electrifying their vehicles. Therefore we see no point in Nissan avoiding the inevitable. Fast charging option is a must and having a battery pack under the cabin would improve handling and steering by a large degree. We will have to wait for an official confirmation for more specific details. But at this point, all cards are on the table for Nissan.
2024 Nissan Titan Price and Release Date
The estimated price for the upcoming 2024 Nissan Titan is somewhere around $39000. This is for the basic trim and the price could spike with more powerful or luxurious trims. They will also be known at a later point in time. The release date is expected to be the second half of 2023. After all, this is a 2024 model year. We are sure that many are excited at Nissan not pulling the plug on their Titan project.
