There are recent reports that the famed 2024 Tesla Cybertruck will be delayed. This comes as a shock as this isn’t the first time dates have changed when talking about Cybertruck. The instant hit of a pickup was first announced in 2019. There were too many pre-orders as everyone was blown away by its futuristic design. Production was supposed to commence at the end of 2021. But grim news changed this as Tesla announced that they are pushing the date further down the line. Now there are reports circulating that the Cybertruck will arrive in late 2023 perhaps even early 2024.
Fans are not thrilled, this is perhaps even an understatement. But there is not much we can do except wait for the actual production to start. This would be the first time that Tesla tried their hand at the truck building. Many are eagerly expecting this novelty as it promises a lot of great innovations. The look of the truck is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the cool stuff that the Cybertruck supposedly has. Let us read along and find out more about what the truck will look like when it finally hits the road.
Tesla Cybertruck Interior
Everything is screaming about the future when the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is concerned. This includes the interior of the famed pickup. The style is something not seen often. It is very minimalistic. Designers decided that it is time for out with the old, and in with the new. This of course means decreasing button numbers to their possible minimum. Looking towards the future, more and more stuff will get digitized and there will be no room for buttons and knobs in the cabin of a vehicle. So we get a central infotainment system as usual. Per reports, it is a 14-inch unit. This allows both rows of passengers to join in on the fun. This will allow you to control everything connected to the computer, which is basically everything that moves.
The dashboard is also digital, which is a nice feature. This way you can customize and personalize the screen to track all the needed information. This improves the safety aspect as drivers now do not need to look around for no reason. The steering wheel itself is also newly designed. It is U-shaped and not something we see often in cars nowadays. We are more likely to encounter a design similar to this one, in futuristic movies. We are positive that Tesla is going to implement the latest safety features into their Cybertruck. This means automatic brakes, lane change alert, pedestrian detection, collision alert, and other must-have features. Systems like these truly save lives on the road. It will be interesting to see Tesla develop their own hands-free driving system. We know they are capable of it, after all, their CEO is sending cars to space.
Recognizable Styling Remains
On the outside, the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck doesn’t look like anything we have seen so far on the truck market. It has sharp edges. It has a design we would see in a 1970s sci-fi movie. Cybertruck looks bold and innovative. That is why most people were blown away by the initial design. The body design is ergonomic and aerodynamic. This is done in order to improve fuel efficiency. Handling is better this way as well. The Cybertruck doesn’t offer a large cargo bed like some full-size trucks on the market.
But it can get the job done. On the front, we have a storage compartment since there is no engine. Bumpers are seamless and blend with the design. On the front, we have a unified LED bar from left to right. Some might say that the edgy look Tesla gives their Cyber Truck looks like bad rendering. But honestly, we are very eager to see it on the road and we are sure many are with us on that sentiment.
Driving Range, Towing Capacity
Perhaps the most interesting part of the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck, is the engine department. We all know that the Cybertruck is exclusively an electric vehicle. It comes in several options. Single motor, dual motor, and tri-motor system. The two electric motor setup provides 625 horsepower. Which is a force to be reckoned with. It can get 300 miles on a single charge without any issue. The tri-motor edition has over 1000 horsepower which is unexpected and 1200 pound-feet of torque. This is easily the heavy-duty truck category. It can tow over 7500 pounds. In the future, Tesla planned an EV3X version with 830 horsepower. There are several options for driving.
For example, Watts To Freedom or WTF if you will. This driving mode can get you to 60 in 3.5 seconds, which is easily supercar territory. A single motor unit can achieve this in 6.4 seconds which is still reasonable for a truck. The dual motor has a top speed of 120mph while the tri-motor specimen can reach 130 mph. Also, towing power is 14000 if you choose the Cyber Truck with three motors. The tri-motor unit also has a bigger battery pack which puts it closer to 500 miles on a single charge per report. This is one of the first occasions where a vehicle comes as an electric version only. We sure hope that this trend continues in the future. Fast charge is also present, this means 100 miles in under 10 minutes of charging. Which is enough for you to get a coffee and continue your drive.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Price and Release Date
With recent delays and supply chain issues, we can’t pinpoint the exact date. Hopefully, it is the end of 2023 instead of the beginning of 2024. Starting price for the single motor unit is $40000, the dual motor will cost you $50000 and the tri-motor unit is $70000. We are sure that the success that the Cybertruck initially had with pre-orders will continue in the future.
