The instant hit of a pickup was first announced in 2019. There were too many pre-orders as everyone was blown away by its futuristic design. Production was supposed to commence at the end of 2021. But grim news changed this as Tesla announced that they are pushing the date further down the line. Now there are reports circulating that the Cybertruck will arrive in late 2023 perhaps even early 2024.
Fans are not thrilled, this is perhaps even an understatement. But there is not much we can do except wait for the actual production to start. This would be the first time that Tesla tried their hand at the truck building. Many are eagerly expecting this novelty as it promises a lot of great innovations. Single motor, dual motor, and tri-motor system. The two electric motor setup provides 625 horsepower. Which is a force to be reckoned with. It can get 300 miles on a single charge without any issue. The tri-motor edition has over 1000 horsepower which is unexpected and 1200 pound-feet of torque. This is easily the heavy-duty truck category. It can tow over 7500 pounds. In the future, Tesla planned an EV3X version with 830 horsepower. There are several options for driving.
For example, Watts To Freedom or WTF if you will. This driving mode can get you to 60 in 3.5 seconds, which is easily supercar territory. A single motor unit can achieve this in 6.4 seconds which is still reasonable for a truck. The dual motor has a top speed of 120mph while the tri-motor specimen can reach 130 mph. Also, towing power is 14000 if you choose the Cyber Truck with three motors. The tri-motor unit also has a bigger battery pack which puts it closer to 500 miles on a single charge per report. This is one of the first occasions where a vehicle comes as an electric version only. We sure hope that this trend continues in the future. Fast charge is also present, this means 100 miles in under 10 minutes of charging. Which is enough for you to get a coffee and continue your drive.
2024 Tesla Cybertruck Price and Release Date
With recent delays and supply chain issues, we can’t pinpoint the exact date. Hopefully, it is the end of 2023 instead of the beginning of 2024. Starting price for the single motor unit is $40000, the dual motor will cost you $50000 and the tri-motor unit is $70000. We are sure that the success that the Cybertruck initially had with pre-orders will continue in the future.
